Ingredients

- Meatballs
- freshly ground beef
- black pepper
- ground cinnamon
- seven-spice (baharat)
- cumin
- salt
- onion slices
- tomato sauce
- Rice
- peas
- butter
- rice
- ground cardamom

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Mix the minced meat with the spices, shape into meatballs, then fry them in a little olive oil.
- Add the sliced onion to the pan and sauté until the onion softens.
- Add the tomato sauce and a little water and let the meatballs simmer over low heat.
- Meanwhile prepare the rice... fry the peas in a little butter, place the rice on top with salt, black pepper, and ground cardamom, and stir.
- Add water according to the rice's needs and a pinch of salt, and bring the water to a boil.
- When the water is almost level with the rice, reduce the heat and let the rice cook on low heat until done.
- Serve the pea rice with the meatballs alongside and garnish with fried nuts if desired.
