Ingredients
- First layer:
- Cake (crumbled or broken into pieces)
- Second layer:
- Custard
- Third layer:
- Jelly (gelatin dessert)
- Fourth layer:
- Sliced strawberries or any fruit of your choice
- Fifth layer:
- Whipped cream
- For garnish:
- Nuts or chocolate shavings
- Cream mixture:
- 1 carton of liquid whipping cream for desserts
- 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
- Custard method:
- Jelly (gelatin) method:
- Dissolve one packet of jelly in 1 cup of hot water, then add 1 cup of cold water and stir well.

Method
- Crumble leftover stale cake or break it into pieces and arrange them in the bottom of a Pyrex dish or a suitable pan.
- Prepare the custard and let it cool, then ladle it over the cake layer and let it cool completely, then place the dish in the refrigerator to ensure the custard has set.
- Prepare the jelly and cool it, then pour it over the set custard and return the dish to the refrigerator.
- Arrange slices of fruit over the chilled, set jelly.
- Prepare the cream: whip the liquid cream until set, then add the condensed milk and mix well.
- Spread a layer of the cream over the fruit and decorate as desired.
- Return the trifle cake to the refrigerator again to set and chill before serving.
- Mix every cup of milk with 1 tablespoon custard powder and sugar to taste...
- When the custard powder and sugar have dissolved in the cold milk, place the mixture over low heat and stir until the custard mixture thickens.
- Let it cool slightly before using.
- Dissolve the packet of jelly in one cup of hot water, then add one cup of cold water and stir well.
