Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups white flour
- 200 g butter
- 2 tablespoons fine sugar
- A pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- Method for preparing the dough:
- Fig jam for the tart filling:
- Finely chop the dried figs in a food processor until you obtain a smooth mixture.
- Every 1 kg of figs requires 1/2 kg sugar (you can use brown sugar).
- Turn off the heat.
Method
- Place the flour and all dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Add the butter and blend with your fingertips.
- Add the egg yolk and mix.
- Add a little water, about 2 tablespoons, and continue mixing the ingredients.
- Once the mixture comes together and holds its shape, wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about ten minutes.
- After the required time, remove the dough from the refrigerator, dust the work surface with flour, roll out the dough and cut it to fit the tart pan, then prick the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling.
- Bake it in the oven for ten minutes at 180°C.
- Spoon some of the fig jam mixture into the tart, and put the remaining jam into a jar for later use.
