Sfoof

There are dozens of different ways to make sfoof, and most of them are delicious and easy. We recommend trying this version, which includes orange juice.

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 1 cup chickpea flour
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 cup powdered milk
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon rose water
  • 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
  • 2 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 tablespoons turmeric

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. First, place all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix them well. Gradually add the liquid ingredients and stir the mixture with a wooden spoon until you get a smooth, homogeneous batter.
  2. Pour the batter into a pan greased with tahini and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 30 minutes, or until cooked through. Baking time will vary depending on the size and depth of the pan and the strength of the oven.
