Donuts — a clear, detailed, successful homemade recipe. It’s important that the dough rests in two stages. Fry in plenty of oil and decorate with chocolate, powdered sugar, etc.

Donuts — one of the most popular American treats loved by kids and adults alike

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 1 egg
  • A dash of vanilla
  • 100 grams butter
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • About 1½ cups milk (or adjust to flour type)

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Mix 1 1/2 cups warm milk with 1 1/2 cups flour with the sugar and yeast and let them rise for about a quarter of an hour
  2. Add the egg, vanilla, and butter and mix well, then begin adding flour in batches and knead to obtain a cohesive dough
  3. Roll it out but keep it thick and shape it into donuts — see the picture
  4. Place the pieces on a tray lined with baking paper to rise
  5. When they have risen, fry the donuts in plenty of oil over medium heat
  6. Let them cool before decorating them with melted chocolate or other toppings as desired
