Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon strawberry jam
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • white cake
  • fresh whipped cream
  • custard
  • red berries, strawberries, and raspberries

Method

  1. Put the strawberry jam and orange juice in the microwave for 20 or 30 seconds.
  2. Place pieces of cake in the bottom of the dish, drizzle with the jam-and-juice mixture, then add whipped fresh cream, spoon a little of the custard mixture over the cream, and arrange the fresh fruits (strawberries, berries, raspberries).
  3. Repeat the same order until the ingredients are used up — finishing with cake, the jam-and-juice mixture, cream, custard, and fruit.
  4. Garnish the final trifle layer with whipped cream, strawberries and fresh mint, and a dusting of powdered sugar.
