Yogurt Fatteh
A simple plain yogurt fatteh made with yogurt, bread and chickpeas — topped with butter or ghee and toasted nuts for a perfect finish.
Yogurt fatteh — an incredibly simple recipe with very basic ingredients
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 garlic clove (crushed)
- Yogurt at room temperature
- Cooked chickpeas
- Fried or toasted bread
- Butter or ghee — amount as desired
- Nuts for garnish

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Crush the garlic cloves and mix them with the yogurt that you removed from the fridge earlier so it reaches room temperature.
- Place the bread on the bottom of the serving dish.
- Put the hot cooked chickpeas over the bread.
- Add two tablespoons of chickpea broth to the yogurt and mix well, then spread the yogurt mixture over the chickpeas.
- Melt the butter or ghee and drizzle it over the top of the dish.
- Garnish the fatteh with fried nuts and serve immediately.
