Yellow rice in an easy and delicious homemade recipe, suitable alongside many meat and chicken dishes or even salad
Ingredients
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 1 tablespoon kabsa spice
- 1 tablespoon turmeric
- Salt to taste
- 1 chicken or vegetable stock cube
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Method
- Soak the rice for 1 hour in hot waterTimers: 60 min
- Boil a little water and add the stock cube, spices, and salt, then mix well until the cube dissolves
- After soaking the rice for 1 hour, drain itTimers: 60 min
- In a pot over the heat, add the tablespoon of oil, then the rice and the boiling water mixed with the spices, stock cube, and salt, making sure the water just covers the rice... add more boiling water if needed... but do not add too much so the rice does not become mushy
- When the water boils again with the rice, cover the pot and reduce the heat until the rice is cooked
