Béchamel sauce, or milk white sauce, is used in so many Italian recipes. Here are all the details—so easy!
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup flour
- 4 cups liquid milk
- Salt
- A pinch of white pepper
- A pinch of black pepper
- 1 cup processed cheese, optional
- 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese

Method
- In a pot over the heat, add the oil with a knob of butter and stir, then add 1 cup of flour and stir until it turns golden.
- Gradually add the milk while stirring in a circular motion.
- Add a pinch of salt and a pinch of white and black pepper, and you can also add 1 cup of liquid cheese at this stage.
- Then add the mozzarella cheese and stir.
- Leave the béchamel sauce over low heat until the mixture thickens and sets.
