Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- Vanilla
- 180 g sugar
- 180 g flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- a small pinch of salt
- Simple syrup or fruit juice
- Whipped cream
- Strawberries

Method
- In the mixing bowl put the eggs and vanilla and beat on high speed
- While beating, add the sugar in batches and continue beating for 10 minutes
- Prepare the flour with baking powder and a pinch of salt and sift them twice
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the egg mixture and fold from top to bottom until all is incorporated
- When finished, pour the batter into a 20 cm cake pan greased with butter and dusted with flour
- Place the sponge cake pan into an oven preheated five minutes earlier and bake for 40 to 45 minutes
- Let the cake cool, then cut it horizontally into 4 layers
- Syrup the layers, fill with cream and strawberries, then frost the outside with cream and decorate as desired
- Chill the sponge cake in the refrigerator for a sufficient time before serving
