Ingredients

  • 1 kilo shrimp, washed and peeled
  • 5 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 3 onions (dry)
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 small coffee cup vegetable oil
  • 3 hot peppers
  • 3 bell peppers
  • 1 tablespoon caper berries (capers) — similar to pea-sized berries but hollow inside
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Juice of half a small lemon
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onion

Method

  1. Chop the garlic and onions finely.. fry them in olive oil with a splash of vegetable oil until they take on a golden color... add the chopped bell and hot peppers and sauté until they soften. Add the capers and sprinkle the spices and salt then the lemon juice and tomato... After a few minutes, add the shrimp and sauté for about 6 minutes before sprinkling the parsley and green onion......
  2. Serve the spicy shrimp alongside boiled pasta, or you can mix them together...
