Sinioura with pistachios — an easy homemade recipe
Ingredients
- 1½ cups (about) butter or a mix of ghee and butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- Pistachio filling:
- Peeled pistachios, chopped or coarsely ground
- 1 tsp ghee (or butter)
- Fine powdered sugar (to taste)

Method
- Place the butter with the sugar in an electric mixer and beat until the sugar dissolves and they become homogeneous.
- Add the flour, one cup at a time, until you obtain a firm dough.
- Divide the dough into equal-sized pieces, then shape them in the special mould and fill with the pistachio filling, cover with a layer of dough and press slightly; you can also leave them plain without filling.
- Tap the edge of the mould on the edge of the table so the sinioura piece drops out, then arrange them on a tray lined with parchment paper.
- Put the tray into a preheated oven at 160°C for 15 minutes or until the sinioura turns golden.
- Dust powdered sugar over the pistachio-filled sinioura and serve when cooled.
