Stir-fried shrimp with vegetables — a simple, very tasty Chinese-style dish

Ingredients

  • Shrimp (peeled and cleaned)
  • 3 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • Fresh ginger or ground ginger
  • Chili powder (optional)
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 onions, cut into wedges
  • Sweet bell peppers, sliced
  • Broccoli florets
  • Carrot, sliced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in 1/2 cup water
  • Mushrooms
  • Green onion (scallions)

  • You can also add shrimp to Italian pizza

Method

  1. Fry the garlic and fresh or powdered ginger in a little sesame oil. Add chili powder to taste.
  2. Add the onion, mushrooms, and the rest of the chopped vegetables and stir until they soften.
  3. Remove the vegetables from the wok, then fry the cleaned shrimp in the same pan with a little sesame oil until it turns golden.
  4. Put the vegetables in a pot on the heat with the dissolved cornstarch, add the seasonings, and stir.
  5. When it boils, turn off the heat immediately and add the fried shrimp on top.
  6. Add the soy sauce at this stage and stir, then serve the stir-fried shrimp with vegetables alongside white rice.
  7. You can also add the shrimp to Italian pizza.
