Chocolate cake made the easiest way, no contest. It’s cooked in a pan on the stovetop, with no oven, and the topping on top is wonderfully simple. This cake is perfect for birthday parties.
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup milk
- 3/4 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- For the topping:
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons Nutella
- For garnish:
- Chocolate pieces
Method
- Using a hand whisk, beat the egg, vanilla, salt, and sugar until the sugar dissolves well.
- Add the oil and whisk well until the mixture is combined.
- Sift the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder, add them in batches, and whisk.
- Grease a nonstick pan with butter, pour in the cake batter, then remove any air by tapping the pan several times on the floor or any hard surface.
- Place the pan over very low heat and cover tightly.
- After about 17 minutes, the cake in the pan will be done. Check it, then turn off the heat.Timers: 17 min
- Let it cool before whisking the topping ingredients and spreading them over the top.
- Decorate the chocolate cake pan with chocolate pieces, or as desired.
