Shrimp or Prawns with Potato
A delicious and easy way to prepare shrimp. Try this method and you’ll make it your go-to shrimp recipe.
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 large potato
- 10 large prawns (shrimp)
- 1 dry onion
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 4 green onions (scallions)
- 1 green or colored bell pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric (or safflower for color)
- A pinch of black pepper
- Salt
- A pinch of ground caraway
- 1 teaspoon ginger, powdered or fresh
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Wash the potato, cut off the top quarter, and hollow it out without removing the skin.
- Deep-fry the potato in plenty of hot oil and set aside.
- Clean the prawns well and set them aside, keeping the tails on.
- Fry the finely chopped onion with the crushed garlic and all the spices listed in the ingredients.
- Add the prawns to the onion and garlic mixture and sauté for 10 minutes; add the water to extract the spices' flavors and to ensure the prawns are cooked.Timers: 10 min
- Stuff the prawns and seasoning mixture into the hollowed potato (as shown in the accompanying photo).
- Serve immediately while hot.
