Delicious, easy sausage rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 kg lean minced meat (for example meat used for kibbeh)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green pepper, finely chopped
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Pinch of garlic powder
  • Pinch of dried coriander
  • Pinch of ground cumin
  • Pinch of dried oregano or thyme
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten (to brush the pastry)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Ready-made puff pastry

Method

  1. Mix all filling ingredients together well.
  2. Lay several sheets of puff pastry on top of each other and spread a strip of the filling lengthwise.
  3. Roll the pastry around the filling to form a log.
  4. Cut the long log into shorter rolls, or leave it whole if you prefer.
  5. Place the sausage rolls on a baking tray lightly greased with oil, then brush the tops with the beaten egg.
  6. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, then bake in a preheated oven at 180°C until the pastry is cooked and golden.
