Ingredients

  • 1 kilo quince
  • 1 liter water
  • 1 kilo sugar
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Today's quince jam recipe is from a friend of the Sho Tabe khin El Yom group:
  • Fatima Zaher‎

Method

  1. Wash the quince well, peel it, and cut each quince into 8 pieces.
  2. Place the washed, chopped quince in a pot over the heat with only the water.
  3. Boil the quince and water for about 10 minutes.
    Timers: 10 min
  4. Add the sugar and also the lemon juice. Let the quince simmer over low heat until it changes color and turns red. Throughout, skim off the foam that forms on the surface of the pot.
  5. When the quince is cooked and the sugar has dissolved, turn off the heat and wait for it to cool slightly, then place it in jars designated for jam.
  6. Note: Lime was not used in this recipe.
