Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons yeast
- 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
Method
- Mix the flour with the sugar, yeast, and baking powder, then start adding the milk and water and whisk with a hand whisk.
- Add the orange blossom water at the end, mix, and let the batter rest for 25 to 30 minutes.Timers: 30 min
- Heat a nonstick skillet over the stove without adding any oil.
- Take a little of the batter and pour it into the skillet in the shape of a circle.
- When the circle is full of bubbles on top and has turned golden from the bottom, it is done.
- Remove the circles from the skillet and place them on a clean kitchen towel.
- Fill the qatayef batter with ashta, cheese, or walnuts and sugar, as desired, and serve with cold syrup.
