- 1 kilo dried or dehydrated figs
- 1/2 kilo sugar
- 1/2 small cup lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon anise seeds
- Nuts, as desired and as available
- Almonds, walnuts, pine nuts

Method
- We start by preparing the syrup (shira) first
- Put the sugar and water in a pot over the heat.... When the sugar comes to a boil, add the lemon juice... After a little while, add the anise seeds and let the syrup boil for about 10 minutes...Timers: 10 min
- Add the figs at this stage and wait a little until they soften, then add the nuts, starting with the almonds and pine nuts.... After several minutes, add the walnuts as well and finally add the toasted sesame seeds...
- Stir from time to time so the jam does not stick to the bottom of the pot.
