Ingredients
- Half a kilo chicken fillet (i.e., chicken breast) sliced into thin lengthwise strips
- 1 large green sweet pepper, cut into lengthwise strips
- 2 carrots, grated
- 1 can of mushrooms
- 1 large onion, cut into wedges
- 3 garlic cloves, crushed
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon chicken seasoning
- Salt to taste
- Potatoes:
- 1 kilogram potatoes, boiled
- 1 tablespoon butter
- A pinch of salt
- A pinch of black pepper
- 1/4 cup liquid milk
- Sauce:
- 1 cup liquid milk
- 1 cup cooking cream
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese or 2 cream cheese cubes, depending on availability
- A pinch of black pepper
- Mozzarella and Kashkaval cheese for the topping — amount as desired
Method
- First, boil the potatoes and mash them with the butter, a pinch of pepper, and salt, then add the milk and mix.
- Place them in the fridge to cool so you can shape them into balls.
- Cook the chicken on its own until the liquid evaporates and its color changes, or you can cover it with water and let it come to a boil for just two boils; as soon as its color changes, drain it, wash it, drain it again, and use it.
- Put the onion and garlic in a pan over the heat and sauté them with a little oil until softened.
- Add the carrot and green pepper and stir, then the mushrooms and stir. Finally, add the chicken strips with the seasonings and salt and stir. Leave them for about 10 minutes, stirring, then turn off the heat.Timers: 10 min
- Place them in a suitable baking dish or Pyrex dish and sprinkle cheese over them, then shape the potatoes into balls and arrange the balls on top.
- Mix the sauce ingredients together and pour it over the Pyrex dish, then sprinkle cheese on top of the potato balls.
- Place the Pyrex dish in the oven for about half an hour from the bottom, then brown it from the top and serve.
