Pasta with Meatballs
Pasta with meatballs is a popular, family‑favorite dish, especially loved by kids. You can make this recipe easily, and it won’t take long.
Ingredients

- 1/2 kilogram ground beef
- salt
- black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan or mozzarella
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon pomegranate molasses – optional
- 1 can crushed tomatoes, or 6 fresh tomatoes
- spaghetti or fettuccine, to taste
Method

- In a deep pot over the heat, put 1 teaspoon of olive oil and a pinch of salt. Boil the pasta and set it aside.
- In a deep bowl, mix the minced meat with the spices, finely chopped parsley, and crushed garlic.
- Add the egg to the meat mixture, then add the breadcrumbs.
- Shape the meat mixture into medium-sized balls.
- In a wide, deep frying pan, heat olive oil and fry the meatballs, turning them gently from time to time until browned on all sides, about 8 to 10 minutes.Timers: 10 min
- Peel the fresh tomatoes, chop them and puree them in a blender. Add them over the meatballs. If using canned tomatoes, add those instead.
- You may add pomegranate molasses at this stage if desired.
- When the tomato mixture with the meatballs comes to a boil, reduce the heat, cover the pot, and let the meatballs simmer gently for about 12 minutes.Timers: 12 min
- Once the meatballs are cooked, you can add the pasta or boiled noodles to the meat pot, or place the pasta on the serving dish and top with a few meatballs and some sauce.
- Sprinkle a little cheese over the pasta with meatballs as desired.
