Orange muhallabia and semolina mold—simple and delicious. A new, creative dessert.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups fresh orange juice
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Bottom layer (semolina) :
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup semolina
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Method

  1. In a saucepan, combine the orange juice with the cornstarch and sugar, mixing them while cold; place over heat and stir until it boils and the mixture thickens.
  2. Pour the first-layer mixture into a mold and leave it for one hour to cool well.
  3. In another pot over heat, add the second-layer ingredients—milk, semolina, sugar, butter, and vanilla—and stir until the mixture thickens well.
  4. Pour the mixture over the first layer in the mold.
  5. Place the orange muhallabia and semolina mold in the refrigerator to chill well.
  6. When serving, invert it onto a serving platter and garnish as desired.
