Mini shaibiyat... an easy and quick recipe for the tastiest dessert after iftar

Ingredients

  • Ready-made puff pastry dough, cut into small squares
  • The cream filling:
  • Cup liquid milk
  • Cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons starch
  • 1 teaspoon rose water
  • 1 teaspoon orange blossom water
  • Syrup for serving / shira

Method

  1. Mix the milk, cream, and starch well while cold.
  2. Put them in a pot over medium heat and stir continuously until they thicken.
  3. Finally add rose water and orange blossom water, turn off the heat, and stir well.
  4. Let the cream (custard) cool to room temperature.
  5. Fill the puff pastry squares after stacking several sheets, then fold them into triangles after filling.
  6. Bake them for just a few minutes until the shaibiyat turn golden.
  7. Syrup them with cold syrup at room temperature as soon as they come out of the oven and garnish with pistachios or as desired.
  8. Serve mini shaibiyat at room temperature.
