- 6 cups cow's milk
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup meat broth
- 600 g beef shanks
- small onion bulbs, 1/2 kilo
- pine nuts
- salt
- vegetable oil
- cinnamon
- black pepper

Method
- Boil the meat with 3 onions... after the meat is cooked, remove it from the water, drain it, and set it aside, but keep the broth.
- In 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, fry the pine nuts and set them aside... then in the same pan, fry the small onions over low heat until they take on some color, then drain the onions very well from the oil.
- Whisk the yogurt well in an electric blender, then strain it and put it in a pot over the heat.... Mix 1/4 cup of the broth with the cornstarch and whisk well, then strain it and add it to the yogurt.
- Place the yogurt on the heat and stir over low heat until it boils without curdling...
- Mash the boiled onions with the meat well using a fork, then add them to the yogurt. Add the meat and the small onions, then season with salt and a pinch of black pepper.
- Serve the Shakriyeh, or Laban Ummo, alongside rice with vermicelli, topped with a delicious sprinkle of cinnamon.
