How to Make Zanoud al-Sitt (Lady's Fingers)

  • A box of filo dough
  • Lemon blossoms for garnish
  • Pistachios for garnish
  • Thick syrup
  • Oil for frying

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Prepare a package of baklava/phyllo sheets and take half of the sheets, covering the remaining portion with a cloth so they do not dry out.
  2. Divide the gollaj (phyllo) sheets into two equal halves, placing one section opposite the other exactly in the shape of the letter

  4. Place 1 tablespoon of fresh qashta (or homemade cream) on the top section of the dough and seal it at both ends so the cream does not escape during frying...
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a pot and fry the Zanoud al-Sitt until they turn golden; then dip them in cold syrup and garnish with pistachios and lemon blossom.
