How to make shuaibiyat the easiest way!
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 5 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 600 ml milk
- 400 ml heavy cream
- Ready-made baklava dough
- Beef ghee
Method
- Mix the starch with one cup of milk and set aside. Mix the remaining milk, cream, and vanilla in a pot and heat them; when they are well heated, add the starch-and-milk mixture you set aside and stir. When the mixture thickens, add rose water and orange blossom water, stir well, and remove from the heat
- Allow the cream filling to cool before using
- Cut the baklava dough into squares. Stack 6 to 8 squares on top of each other, fill with one tablespoon of cream, then fold or close the dough into a triangle. Be careful not to press the dough when folding it
- Melt the ghee and brush the tops of the triangles with it. Place the shuaibiyat on a tray and bake them until they turn golden. You can add more cream after baking because the triangles were left almost half open
- Garnish the shuaibiyat with pistachios and lemon blossom as desired, and serve them cold with syrup
- How to make the syrup:
- Dissolve two cups of sugar in one cup of water and boil for about 7 minutes... then add a pinch of vanilla, the juice of a quarter lemon, and 1 teaspoon of rose water and 1 teaspoon of orange blossom water... let the syrup boil for another three minutes and remove from the heat... use it when it has cooledTimers: 7 min
