Savory kaak, a successful and easy homemade recipe
Ingredients
- Half a kilo of flour
- 1 tablespoon yeast
- 1 teaspoon anise
- 1 medium tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon fennel
- 1 teaspoon mahleb
- 1 cup olive oil + vegetable oil
- Nigella seeds
- Sesame seeds
Method
- Mix the dry ingredients except the yeast, then add the oil and mix.
- Add the yeast and mix, then gradually add the water and knead well for about 10 minutes.Timers: 10 min
- Let the dough rest for 1 hour.Timers: 60 min
- After the time has passed, shape the kaak as desired or as shown in the picture.
- Bake the kaak in the oven on a rack over medium heat for about 12 minutes only.Timers: 12 min
- Lightly brown the top for just 1 minute.Timers: 1 min
- Serve the savory kaak at room temperature.
