  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup starch
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • Vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Food coloring

Method

  1. Cream the butter with sugar until you obtain a creamy mixture...
  2. Add the eggs one by one with the vanilla and continue beating... Finally add the flour, starch, baking powder, salt, and food coloring...
  3. Mix well and let the dough rest for 10 minutes, then shape into small rounds and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C.

  4. Bake Lancashire biscuits for about 10 to 12 minutes.

  5. Let the Lancashire biscuits cool completely before decorating as you like. You can pair two biscuits with jam or runny chocolate like Nutella. Garnish with nuts, coconut, or candied fruit.
