Ingredients
- 1 kilo ripe red tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup white vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp white pepper
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
Method
- Peel the tomatoes and blend them well in an electric blender, then put them with half a cup of water in a pot over the heat and let them boil.
- After about 5 minutes of boiling, once the sauce has thickened, strain it through a fine sieve.Timers: 5 min
- Add the sugar, vinegar, spices, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder, mix well, and return the mixture to the pot over the heat until it boils and thickens a little.
- Dissolve the cornstarch in 1/4 cup water and pour the mixture into the pot. Let it boil for only 3 more minutes, then remove from the heat.
- Serve the ketchup cold and store it in jars or tightly sealed glass bottles in the refrigerator.
