How to make cotton candy using a tried-and-true homemade method!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups white flour
  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rose water
  • 2 tablespoons glucose (can be replaced with a pinch of citric acid)

Method

  1. Toast the flour over low heat for 5 minutes.
    Timers: 5 min
  2. Add the 2 tablespoons of ghee and stir for 3 minutes.
    Timers: 3 min
  3. Sift the flour.
  4. Place a pot over the heat and add 1/2 cup water and 1 cup sugar,
  5. then add the rose water along with
  6. 2 tablespoons glucose or a pinch of citric acid.
  7. Boil the mixture for about 10-12 minutes, continuing to stir until it turns slightly golden...
    Timers: 12 min
  8. Pour it into a dish lightly greased with a little water so the sugar mixture does not stick.
  9. Let it cool slightly, then knead it by hand so it turns a little whiter. Cut the sugar dough and shape it into a bracelet, then place it in the flour while opening it....
  10. Try to open it from all sides until it becomes larger... Turn it over and fold it into two layers..
  11. Keep opening it until the strands multiply and you get the desired size...
  12. You can add vanilla extract and almond extract to give cotton candy a special flavor
