Bulgur with tomatoes — a practical, quick-to-make dish that can be prepared with meat or made vegetarian
Ingredients
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 ripe red tomatoes
- 1/2 cup coarse bulgur
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon dried mint
- A pinch of black pepper
- Vegetable oil or olive oil, as desired

Method
- Put a little oil in a pot over the heat, add the onion, and sauté until it softens
- Add the tomatoes blended in a blender, the salt, and dried mint, and cook until the tomatoes soften
- Wash and drain the bulgur, add it on top of the tomatoes in the pot, and add a little water as well until the bulgur is covered
- Reduce the heat when the water boils and cover the pot
- Leave the pot on low heat until the bulgur cooks; it will need about 20 minutesTimers: 20 min
