Ingredients

  • 1 kilo beef for shawarma
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon shawarma spice
  • 2 tomatoes
  • Bread suitable for sandwiches
  • Parsley
  • Sumac
  • Dried onion
  • Tahini sauce
  • Mixed pickles
  • French fries

Method

  1. Cut the meat into long thin slices suitable for shawarma. Marinate the shawarma the night before cooking or at least 6 hours before cooking.
    Timers: 360 min
  2. If shawarma spice is not available, you can prepare a spice mix consisting of: a pinch of black pepper, a pinch of sweet spice, a pinch of meat spice, a pinch of ground ginger, a pinch of cinnamon, and a pinch of sweet red pepper.
  3. Add white vinegar, salt, and onion to the shawarma as well. When cooking, place the marinated shawarma on a tray on the stovetop or in the oven on low heat until all the juices evaporate and they are well cooked.
  4. Chop the tomatoes and add them over the shawarma and let them cook well...
  5. Prepare shawarma bread or regular bread and wrap them as sandwiches with parsley, sumac, dried onion, and tahini or tarator sauce (a mix of tahini with water, lemon juice, salt, and a pinch of parsley). Serve the shawarma sandwiches also with assorted pickles and French fries.
