A fail-proof, delicious homemade petit four recipe.

Ingredients

  • 907 g flour (about 4 large cups)
  • 450 g butter, at room temperature
  • 2 cups powdered (confectioners’) sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

Method

  1. Beat the butter slightly, then gradually add the sugar until all is incorporated
  2. Add the eggs and vanilla and continue beating
  3. Gradually add the flour and baking powder and knead until we get a soft, tender dough that does not crack
  4. Shape the petit fours using the specialized molds
  5. Arrange the petit fours on parchment paper on the tray then put them in the oven on the second rack for 5 minutes at 200°C
    Timers: 5 min
  6. Brown them for two minutes on top after they are baked
  7. Remove the petit fours from the oven and let them cool at room temperature
  8. Fill them with jam or chocolate and sandwich each pair of petit fours together... or decorate them with chocolate
