Petit four — an easy homemade treat the kids will love and ask for more

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup oil or butter at room temperature
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • Jam for decoration

Method

  1. Beat the eggs with the soft butter, sugar, and vanilla
  2. In another bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder, then add them to the egg and butter mixture
  3. Mix well until you obtain a soft dough
  4. Place the dough in the refrigerator for half an hour to rest
  5. After time has passed, shape the petit fours pieces as desired then arrange them on a baking tray on parchment paper
  6. Put them in the oven at medium temperature for about 15 minutes or until the petit fours turn golden
  7. Leave the tray aside until the petit fours cool
  8. When cooled, decorate them with jam or Nutella as desired
