Healthy Oat and Flour Cake
Oat and flour cake in an easy homemade recipe. Oats are known for their many benefits, so it’s a good idea to replace some of the white flour in the cake with oats. Using brown sugar instead of white is also the better choice! Who will try this delicious cake?!
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 cup oats
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
- 2 eggs, at room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- A pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup raisins
Method

- Soak the oats in the boiling water for 20 minutes.Timers: 20 min
- In a bowl or using a mixer, beat the brown sugar (or white sugar) with the butter until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Add the eggs and vanilla and beat until the mixture doubles in volume.
- Add the oats and stir.
- Then add the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt and stir.
- Finally, add the raisins and stir.
- Grease a pan or baking tray with oil and pour in the batter.
- Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180°C on the middle rack for 45 to 50 minutes, depending on your oven.Timers: 50 min
- Test the cake for doneness with a small wooden skewer.
- When the cake has cooled to room temperature, turn it out onto a serving plate and serve.
- Note: This cake has a slightly thick texture and is not like a traditional cake.
