Ingredients
- 2 cups coarse semolina
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups yogurt
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3 tablespoons ghee (vegetable or animal)
- Pistachios for garnish, or any nuts of your choice

Method
- In a bowl, mix the ghee, sugar, yogurt, baking powder, and baking soda (bicarbonate) and stir well.
- Add the semolina and mix well.
- Let the mixture rest for 4 hours.
- Place it in a buttered tray and garnish with pistachios.
- Place the tray in the bottom of the oven at 200°C for about twenty minutes or until the edges turn golden.
- When the edges are golden, remove the harisa from the oven and cut it, then return it to the oven on the middle rack for about another twenty minutes.
- Remove it from the oven and soak it with syrup (qatra).
- Serve it once it has cooled.
