Recipe story
Pie ingredients:
Baklava pastry sheets
100 g melted butter, or more as needed
Custard
Method for preparing the pie:
We place layers of baklava pastry sheets in the oven-safe glass dish, brushing each layer with melted butter and placing some of the layers sideways around the pyrex dish, so that half is inside and half is outside, until we have 12 layers.
We add the custard we prepared earlier, then cover it with a few layers, brushing each layer with butter.
Finally, we fold over the layers we left half outside the pyrex dish onto the top.
Brush the top with butter and cut as desired.
Place the glass dish in the oven on the middle rack over high heat for about half an hour, or حسب the strength of the oven, until the pie is browned from the bottom and sides, then brown the top...
After the pie has cooled, place it in the refrigerator for at least three hours, uncovered. When serving, you can dust the top with powdered sugar or pour syrup over it.
Custard:
7 cups water
1 1/2 cups powdered milk
3/4 cup sugar
10 tablespoons ready-made custard powder
Method for preparing the custard:
Mix all the ingredients cold, then place them over the heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens well and becomes heavy.
