Fried Meat Pies
Homemade meat pies that are simply irresistible. These pies are served with a sprinkle of parsley and sumac, which gives them a distinctive touch and a tangy flavor thanks to the acidity of the sumac. We recommend trying them.

Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- Dough
- 3 cups flour
- half a cup of melted butter
- Three quarters of a cup of water
- 1 and a half teaspoons of salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Filling
- half a kilo finely ground meat
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 finely chopped onions
- 2 finely chopped tomatoes
- 1 chicken stock cube
- half a teaspoon of dried mint
- a quarter teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon mixed spices, or to taste
- vegetable oil for frying
- Chopped parsley and sumac for serving

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Mix the dry dough ingredients with the butter, then add the water gradually and knead until the dough becomes cohesive and smooth
- Cover the dough and let it rest for half an hour
- Put oil in a pan over the heat and sauté the chopped onion until softened, then add the meat and cook for five minutes or until done
- Add the tomato, bouillon cube, mint, and spices; stir, then remove the pan from the heat and set it aside to let the filling cool
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface using a rolling pin
- Cut the dough into circles and place a portion of filling inside each, then seal the edges with a fork
- Deep-fry the meat pies in hot oil until golden
- Remove them from the oil, sprinkle with parsley and sumac, and serve with yogurt
