Ingredients
- 5 eggs at room temperature
- 200 grams butter at room temperature
- 300 grams powdered sugar
- 400 grams cake flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract or vanilla powder
- Dried fruit or raisins, or as desired

Method
- Beat the butter with the sugar, salt, and vanilla until creamy
- Add the eggs one at a time, making sure each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next, and continue until all 5 eggs are used
- Sift the flour and baking powder and add them over the English cake mixture, then beat for a few seconds
- Finally add the raisins or dried fruit after tossing them in flour, and stir with a wooden spoon until the mixture is uniform
- Pour the English fruit cake mixture into a buttered and floured pan or one lined with parchment paper
- Place the pan into a preheated oven at 180°C for about one hour, or according to your oven's strength
- Let the cake cool at room temperature before serving
