Ingredients

  • Ready-made puff pastry or homemade dough *
  • 2 cups minced meat
  • 1 large dry onion
  • 1 tablespoon tahini
  • 1 tablespoon pomegranate molasses
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint
  • 1 tablespoon plain yogurt
  • Salt and meat seasonings
  • 1 tablespoon pine nuts

Method

  1. Sauté the chopped dry onion in a little vegetable oil until lightly golden.
  2. Add the ground meat and stir it with the fried onion, seven-spice, black pepper, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  3. When the meat is nearly cooked, add the tahini and yogurt, and continue stirring.
  4. Add the chopped parsley and mint and mix well.
  5. When the meat is cooked and just before turning off the heat, add the pomegranate molasses with a sprinkle of pine nuts.
  6. Spread the meat filling over squares of puff pastry and place the sfiha in a preheated oven.
  7. Bake at 180 degrees for about 12 minutes, or until cooked through, depending on the strength of your oven.
