Recipe story

Digestive biscuits... no need to buy them ready-made if you can make them at home this easily

Ingredients

  • One cup whole wheat flour
  • Half a cup rolled oats
  • Half a cup all-purpose flour
  • Half a cup sugar
  • Half a cup butter at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 4 tablespoons liquid milk
  • Note:
  • If the edges of the dough crumble while rolling, that's normal and doesn't affect the biscuits — you can gather the edges and cut from the middle.

Method

  1. In the grinder, put the oats with the sugar and grind them until they are fine
  2. Place them in a bowl, then add the all-purpose flour, whole-wheat flour and baking powder and mix
  3. Add the butter and rub it into the mixture well with your hands
  4. Then add the honey and mix, then knead with the liquid milk
  5. Wrap the digestive biscuit dough in cling film and refrigerate it for ten minutes
  6. Sprinkle a little all-purpose flour on a clean surface, place the dough and also dust its top with flour, then roll it out slowly with a rolling pin so it doesn't crack
  7. Cut the dough into circles and half-circles on a baking tray lined with parchment paper
  8. Prick or dock the biscuits with a fork before putting them in the oven
  9. Put the tray in the oven at 180°C for 15 to 20 minutes
  10. When the bottoms of the biscuits brown, turn off the bottom heat and brown them from the top as well
  11. Let the biscuits cool at room temperature before serving
