Chocolate crepes — a light, quick dessert that’s sure to satisfy kids’ sweet cravings.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 teaspoons powdered (icing) sugar
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons oil (for the batter)
  • 1 tablespoon oil (for greasing the pan)

Method

  1. Sift the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then add the sugar.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs with the milk, oil, and vanilla, then add the egg mixture to the flour mixture while continuing to whisk until smooth with no lumps.
  3. Set the chocolate crepe batter aside for about half an hour.
  4. Lightly oil an 18 cm non-stick pan or brush it with a little oil; it should be over medium heat.
  5. Pour a quarter cup of the batter into the pan in a circle to cover the entire base.
  6. Cook the chocolate crepe for one minute on each side or until it becomes light golden.
  7. Place the crepe on a plate and repeat the process until the batter is finished.
  8. Place a banana on each crepe, roll it around the banana, then cut it into sushi-style pieces and arrange them on a serving plate; alternatively, you can simply fill the crepe discs with chocolate, roll them, and serve.
