Chickpea fatteh — a delicious home-style recipe
Ingredients
- Cooked whole chickpeas
- Thick bread (pita or flatbread)
- Yogurt
- A little tahini
- Crushed garlic
- Salt
- Peeled, fried almonds

Method
- Place the cooked chickpeas, drained of their cooking water, in the bottom of the serving dish.
- Cut the bread into small cubes with a knife and fry them in plenty of oil, stirring until they brown and toast; then drain them well and place them over the chickpeas.
- Whisk the yogurt with the tahini and salt, then pour it over the chickpeas and bread.
- Scatter the fried and lightly toasted almonds (fried with a little oil in a pan) over the surface and serve the chickpea fatteh immediately while hot.
