Ingredients

  • 500 g minced meat
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • A pinch of seven-spice mix
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • Crushed (ground) biscuits or breadcrumbs
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 small green sweet pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 small red sweet pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 dry onions, finely chopped
  • Oil for frying

Method

  1. Put the minced meat in a bowl and add the very finely chopped onion and red and green peppers.. then add the spices and mix well to form the kofta.
  2. Shape them into rounds or balls and place them in the freezer for only half an hour until the meatballs firm up.
  3. After half an hour.. start dipping the balls in flour, then egg, and finally breadcrumbs, in stages.
  4. Deep‑fry the breaded kofta in plenty of hot oil until they are cooked and golden, then serve immediately.
