Method
- Put the flour in a bowl. Add the oil and mix with a fork or a mixer until the flour absorbs the oil.
- Add the vinegar and salt, mix, then add the lukewarm water and knead until you have a smooth, soft dough.
- Cover well and place in the fridge or set aside for 1 hour or more.Timers: 60 min
- While the dough rests, prepare the fillings. For the beef filling: put the ground beef in a skillet over heat and cook until the color changes and any released juices evaporate.
- Add the chopped onion and oil, stir until the onion softens.
- Add the tomato and green pepper and continue cooking until tender.
- Add salt, pepper and the remaining ingredients, mix well until combined, then remove the filling from the heat and let it cool.
- Prepare the chicken filling: heat oil in a skillet, add the onion and cook until softened, then add the tomato and stir.
- Add the shredded chicken, mix well, then add the remaining ingredients and cook until combined and heated through.
- Set the fillings aside to cool.
- After the resting time, dust a clean surface with flour and roll the dough into a thin sheet.
- Cut the sheet into circles of the desired size and place a portion of the filling you choose in the center of each circle.
- Fold each circle into a half-moon, or place two circles together if you prefer. Seal the edges by pressing with your fingers or crimping with a fork.
- Fry the sambousek filled with beef or chicken in hot, deep oil and serve hot.
