Beef Stroganoff

Beef Stroganoff — a classic Russian dish made quickly with tender beef strips, mushrooms, cream and stock. Serve with white rice.

Beef stroganoff — one of the most famous Russian dishes, made with beef or chicken. A very tasty recipe.

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • Half a kilo beef tenderloin (thinly sliced) — the tender cut is preferred
  • 2 large dry onions
  • 1 cup mushrooms (sliced)
  • Cooking mustard
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 cup cooking cream
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon meat sauce (gravy)
  • A pinch of sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon flour

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Fry the beef after seasoning it with sweet and black pepper; fry it in oil and butter over high heat
  2. When it is cooked — without overcooking so it doesn't dry out — set it aside
  3. In the same pan, sauté the chopped onion until softened, then add the chopped mushrooms and stir; then add the flour and mix
  4. Add the beef that was set aside, then add mustard, ketchup, meat sauce, and chicken stock, and stir
  5. When they boil, add the cream and let them boil briefly until the sauce thickens slightly
  6. Serve the beef stroganoff with white rice
