Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups mashed bananas or about 3 large bananas
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup yogurt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or coconut oil
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup syrup or honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips

Method
- In a bowl, mash the bananas, then add the egg and mix with a wooden spoon; then add the yogurt (you can use low-fat yogurt if you prefer).
- Add the oil to the cake mixture and mix well, then add the sugar, vanilla and honey and continue mixing. Add the baking soda, cinnamon and salt and mix.
- Finally add the flour, stir, then fold in the chocolate chips and mix well; place in a baking pan and sprinkle a few chocolate chips on top of the cake.
- Bake the banana, honey and chocolate chip cake in a preheated oven at 170°C for 40–50 minutes or until the cake is fully cooked, depending on your oven.
