Low-Fat Namoura

Namoura is a popular, delicious traditional dessert. Try this low-fat, light Namoura so you can enjoy it guilt-free.

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 1 1/2 cups coarse semolina
  • 1 1/2 cups fine semolina
  • 1 cup coconut oil
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup fat-free yogurt (can be substituted with fat-free milk)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Syrup
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Note
  • You can use butter instead of coconut oil and regular sugar instead of brown sugar

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Mix the fine and coarse semolina with the coconut oil until the semolina absorbs all the oil, then add the sugar, yogurt and vanilla .....
  2. Mix the ingredients well then add the baking powder and mix well ..
  3. Pour the mixture into a pan greased with coconut oil or butter and top with almonds or any type of nuts and let the dough rest for 30 minutes...
    Timers: 30 min
  4. Put the pan in the oven and when it firms or sets slightly take it out of the oven. Cut as desired then return it to the oven to brown ..
  5. When the namoura is cooked in the oven pour the syrup over it, let it cool and serve
