Ingredients
- 5 green or red apples
- 4 cups or 1 liter milk
- 4 large tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 packet powdered caramel flan mix
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 tablespoon cinnamon or vanilla, as desired
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Chocolate vermicelli
Method
- Peel 3 apples, remove the seeds, and cut them into small cubes
- Melt the butter in a pan, add the apples with the vanilla or cinnamon, and stir for 2 minutesTimers: 2 min
- After 2 minutes, add 2 tablespoons of sugar and stir for about 4 minutes until the sugar caramelizesTimers: 2 min, 4 min
- Turn off the heat and set the pan aside
- Prepare the muhallebi... first, cut the remaining 2 apples without peeling them, place them in an electric blender with 1 cup of milk, and blend until well pureed
- Strain them and place them in a pot over the heat with the remaining milk, cornstarch, 4 tablespoons of sugar, and the powdered caramel sachet, and stir well until the mixture boils and thickens
- At this stage, you can also add 2 tablespoons of prepared caramel flan, as desired
- Remove the muhallebi mixture from the heat once it reaches the desired consistency
- In serving glasses, distribute some of the caramelized apples in the bottom, then a little chocolate vermicelli, and pour the muhallebi mixture over them
- Once they cool to room temperature, place them in the fridge for an hour to chill a little, then top with more vermicelli and caramelized apples and return the glasses to the fridge
- Serve the caramel and apple muhallebi well chilled from the fridge, and garnish as desired before serving
