Tin-Foil Pasta with Red Sauce and Cheese

Ingredients

  • Small curved pasta or shells, or as desired, boiled in salted water and drained
  • Finely chopped onion
  • Minced garlic
  • Half a cup tomato puree
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Paprika
  • Oregano - dried thyme
  • Dried coriander
  • Rosemary
  • Garlic powder
  • One tablespoon tomato sauce
  • Quarter cup cooking cream
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese - optional

Method

  1. Boil the pasta in salted water; after it's cooked, drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté the onion in a little vegetable oil until soft, then add the minced garlic and stir briefly until it softens.
  3. Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and spices; stir, reduce the heat, and let the sauce simmer gently, stirring until it thickens.
  4. When the sauce reaches the desired consistency, add the liquid cream, mix well, and turn off the heat.
  5. In a Pyrex dish, place a sheet of aluminum foil (use a large sheet so you can later fold it over the pasta).
  6. Put the pasta in the middle of the Pyrex over the foil, spoon the sauce over it, and sprinkle cheese on top.
  7. Seal the foil on all sides and place the Pyrex in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes until the pasta combines with the sauce and the cheese melts.

  8. When serving, invert the tin-foil pasta onto a serving plate and serve hot. Note: You can add chicken or meat to the recipe if desired.
